It's a small music box based on my favourite of Hans Christian Andersen's fairytales; the story goes that the Chinese emperor had a nightingale in his gardens that sang very beautifully, a different tune each time, and he invited it into the palace, where it was favoured for a while. But then the emperor then recieved a mechanical bird and the live one was forgotten. But the automaton only sang the same song over and over...
Anyway, music box was bought in Copenhagen Tivoli and plays Für Elise. Everytime. The irony's killing me.
